Hair Care Regime:Feel Free to Post how You Care for Your Hair!

My Hair Regime:

~I wash my hair once a week.
~I co-wash with Aubrey's Honey Suckle Rose conditioner. I used to shampoo my hair with Aubrey's Island Naturals and Honey Suckle Rose shampoo every 2 months but they both made my hair feel stiff so I stopped using them. I'm still looking for a great all natural shampoo.
~I don't wash my hair in braids anymore. I wash my hair in four sections. One section at a time. It doesn't tangle as much this way.
~After co-washing, I spray my hair with a Vegetable Glycerin and water mix, Giovanni's leave-in conditioner, and I seal it with Coconut Oil.
~I only comb my hair after I wash it and it is still wet.
~I deep condition my hair weekly with Aubrey's Glycogen Protein Conditioner. Most of the time I wear three plastic caps with a stocking cap to bed for an overnight conditioning. I usually do this on Fridays and rinse my hair when I wake up and then I'll twist it. If I don't have time to do an overnight conditioning or I'm out of the Glycogen Protein Conditioner, I'll use the Honey Suckle Rose and wear a plastic cap for an hour or however much time I have to spare.
~I twist my hair after I wash it. It dries overnight and I wear a braid out throughout the week. I usually re-twist the top or front at night. Sometimes I don't and I wear a satin cap over it. I am going to try to wear my twists longer. Maybe a week or two at a time to allow my hair to rest.
~I use coconut oil on the ends of my hair daily sometimes twice a day.
~I only use all natural products or products that are at least 98% natural. I order mostly from iherb.com.

Umm..I think that's it. I have used Boundless Tresses Growth Serum as a scalp oil. I don't believe it made my hair grow faster (I really don't think anything can make your hair grow faster...except genetics) but it was a great natural oil for my scalp. It will tarnish your gold and silver jewelry so be careful if you decide to try it. I do want to try Qhemet Biologics Heavy Leave-In Cream and Ojon restorative hair oil. The best advice is to try different products and routines and you will be able to find what works the best for your hair.

Feel free to post how you care for your hair. Sharing is caring. :)

Currently, I co-wash my hair with HE (Hello Hydrations) 1-2x per week. I co-wash my hair in 6-8 braids. It keeps down on breakage and shedding. I now have little to no tangles.

I clarify my hair and scalp 1-2x per month with either Baking soda/water or ACV/water

I DT my hair after every co-wash. I usually use Motions DPT or Lustrasilks Shea Butter Cholesterol. I usually keep that on for at least an hour. Sometimes, I sleep in it over night.

For the past 2 months, I've been learning more about Ayurveda. I use Amla/Brahmi and mix into a paste. I apply that to pre-oiled hair and scalp from the night before. I left the amla/brahmi mixture sit on my hair and scalp for 45min-1hr. I dunk my head in water to loosen up the paste. Co-wash about 3-4x to get all the paste off my hair and scalp.

I also henna my hair. I use Karishma henna and I LOVES IT! I only add henna + chamomile or green tea. I let it sit for a while, then apply and sleep in it over night. I don't do anything fancy with my henna (there is no need) I use either saran wrap or shower caps and my scarf. In the morning, I dunk my head int he tub to loosen up the henna. Once that is all loosened, I start rinsing my hair. I co-wash and keep on co-washing until the water from my head and scalp runs clear of water. I then apply my DT, again at least an hour then rinse then style.

i really relaxed on all of my products this summer. not on purpose but because i bought a home and have been so busy renovating it!!(yay!) but i have took my routine down to this --i rinse my hair with just plain water every two days and i apply infusium 23 and coconut oil. every day hair dress is the same coconut oil and infusium. my hair stayed in a protective style all summer except for a couple days in between redoing it(let it rest with no manipulation). other than that i really havent done anything else. i do henna every three to four months. i only wash my hair once a month!( it works for me!! i have a dry scalp!!) my hair is still healthy! i am a product junkie(i think it's just mental, lol!) the less i do with my hair the more it seems to flourish and grow! i do love conditioners!!< sometimes i dilute them and use them as a leave in conditioner!!

Current Routine:
Every two weeks I alternate between an overnight henna treatment and an overnight deep oil treatment, usually an olive oil and honey mixture. I then co-wash with a cheap conditioner and mixed with baking soda. I then do a deep conditioning treatment with heat cap for an hour and rinse. Apply leave in conditioner, seal with an oil, then style. I don't do much during the next two weeks, just separate my coils during week two and apply coconut oil as needed.
